TapReport ("we," "us") is a free, early-stage tool for HVAC field technicians to generate service reports. This page explains what data we collect and how it's used. TapReport is currently in beta — if you have questions about anything below, reach out and we'll answer directly.
What we collect
- Account info: your email address and password (handled by our authentication provider, Supabase — we never see or store your raw password).
- Profile info you enter: company name, address, phone, license number, technician name, and an optional company logo.
- Report data you create: customer names, site addresses, equipment details, photos, and notes you enter to generate service reports.
- Basic technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser type) used only for security and debugging.
How we use it
Your data is used solely to operate TapReport: storing your reports, generating your PDFs, and displaying your dashboard. We do not sell your data to third parties, and we do not use your report content for advertising.
Where it's stored
Data is stored with Supabase, our database and storage provider, in encrypted form at rest and in transit. Access to your reports and profile is restricted to your account via row-level security — other users cannot read or modify your data.
Shared PDFs and photos
When you generate a report PDF or upload a photo, TapReport creates a link so you can share it with your customer (by email, text, or direct link). Anyone with that exact link can view the file — this is intentional, since reports are meant to be shared with customers who don't have a TapReport account. Don't share these links publicly if a report contains information you'd like to keep private.
Your choices
You can edit or delete any report from your dashboard at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us and we'll process the request.
Changes to this policy
TapReport is under active development during beta. If this policy changes in a material way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
